• Tucker – point the megaphone toward the audience. Be careful about lowering it.
• Hannah A, when you are walking down the steps, you look like a kid. Queens do not look down. USE THE BOOK. Tell tale should be louder.
• Macy, have the book at the beginning. Sheree can hand it to you when she talks to you.
• Nathan, move more right stage so we can see you.
• STOP! We will reblock the village scene. We will re-light it too. Sorry, James.
• This foot – Macy, needs to be said as soon as Tucker says his line.
• Tap once – Macy – you need to tap.
• Music was late on the dancing.
• Tatum – hit the nouns and verbs. The line about demons needs to be heard clearly. Vocal variety. We need this and not so much screaming. Watch your horse and see what he/she does. Then you copy the same mannerisms.
• Macy, tap when the chant begins then the bard rod moves.
• Start on page 16 on Friday.
• Meredith, say Magic is here, hope is here in different ways.
• Brooke, Macy, and Tatum, speak in a lower register.
• Reagan, your expressions need to be BIGGER
• Abbey, Hannah Ayers, and Hannah Almstead – you are all very proper and OLD.
• Jake needs to twitch his mouth when Macy takes his griddle cakes away or mutter under your breath.
• Reagan, open your mouth bigger and hit consonants. This goes for EVERY ACTOR.
• MEMORIZE LINES. We are feeding too many.
• Laurel, act a little more like a little girl – curious, excited to meet new people. Reach further to almost touch the foot.
• Tucker – missed line – now you know the cruel truth of the world.
• More touching each other.
• When talking to the audience, do not make eye contact with anyone. Look at the exit sign.
• Music was late several times.
• Tucker, laugh when the kelpie makes up the story about the demons.
• Make sure you say her when talking about the kelpie.
• Everyone, watch enunciation now that you are familiar with the lines.
• Not to be – pause – not be taking my books pause . The audience needs to see her considering or no pause.
• I hate – change vocal levels. Each I hate needs to be different. Maybe reach near tears at one point.
You all are trying so hard. Everyone is working. This is a more difficult play than the other schools will do so we need to work harder. Rehearsal is Friday from 3:45-4:45. If you can get here earlier, we can start earlier. I know most of you have plans.
