Tuesday, October 12 Rehearsal

Tuesday, October 12, 2010
• We have five rehearsals left until we perform in front of a judge at our clinic. Memorize your lines. Being gone is not an excuse for not having lines memorized.
• Sound – Pay attention. Music and sound effects MUST be on cue. If you cannot hear the actors speak, then turn the music down. Record the sound levels so that you can be consistent each time. I know that this is your first time to do this, but be consistent. You and the light tech are controlling the environment of the show.
• Sea Mither, touch Brigid more.
• Cheyanne, louder when saying – the serpent crept….
• Brooke, use a lower register to speak.
• Reagan, hit the consonants. A little bit louder. You are improving.
• More touching – everyone
• Briana, sound sad when you ask where she is going. I love that you are using gestures. Usually, I have to scream at students to use more. However, no dance gestures. Use gestures you might see a teacher using in a classroom. Use the dance gestures during the dances and show all the others how you do it.
• Father, don’t stomp all the way out. You are doing so well at showing emotion.
• Sea Mither, dance around Brigid until she says her first line.
• Sage, work on your walk and air. USE THE BOOK ON YOUR HEAD.
• Great job tonight, guys. Wonderful job, Andi and Brittany. Thanks for helping us out. Please express your gratitude to Kayla. She has been working on the script during the week – the script for the judge and contest manager.
• Friday, we will start rehearsing as soon as the pep rally is over. We will rehearse for one hour. We have to time the show, so I will know whether to add or cut scenes.
• FIVE MORE REHEARSALS UNTIL THE CLINIC. Even though the other schools are no longer in our district, we need to be competitive with them.
